A public service vehicle conductor who robbed two English visitors while they were on the beach will spend the next sixth months in jail.
Shawn Omar Hinkson, 32, of pavilion Road, Bank Hall, St Michael pleaded guilty before Magistrate Douglas Frederick today, to stealing a haversack, a wallet, a cellular phone and cash with a combined total of $1,413 belonging to Harry Hall on August 18, as well as a bag, sun cream, a book and two beach towels totalling $239 belonging to Rosie Chapman on the same day.
The visitors were enjoining a day at Pile Bay Beach, with Wall swimming and
Chapman lounging on a beach chair when Hinkson snatched their bags. The visitors pursued and caught up with Hinkson who handed over the property. The police were called in and he was arrested.
