The Barbados Water Authority (BWA) is probing whether one of its employees was one of two adults in an alarming video circulating on social media, showing a child drinking from a Banks beer bottle.
The male, who is engaged in a conversation with a woman while the child consumes the beverage, appears to be wearing a BWA uniform.
In a statement, the BWA condemned the action, describing it as “irresponsible and disgraceful”.
It noted that while the issue has “become a police matter and has also been referred to the Child Care Board, the BWA is also conducting an internal investigation”.
Yesterday, Banks Holding Limited (BHL) also criticized the incident, stating that it abhorred alcohol abuse, particularly by people who were not of drinking age.
Police Public Relations Officer Acting Inspector Rodney Inniss confirmed to Barbados TODAY that the matter was being investigated.
