A man’s antics on a bicycle were not enough to prevent police from detaining him and discovering cocaine paraphernalia and cannabis in his possession.
And for those crimes 49-year-old Henderson DaCosta Moore, of Bedford Lane, Greenfield, St Michael will spend the next six months in prison where he will also undergo drug treatment.
Magistrate Douglas Frederick imposed the sentence on Moore “who has a history with drugs”.
Police were on duty along Giles Road, in Moore’s community, when they saw him fidgeting with his pocket. On seeing the police he “hopped on to his peddle cycle and speedily rode off”.
He was however apprehended and a small bottle with a hole at the bottom and burnt residue at the top was found while he was being searched.
“It is my pipe,” Moore told police when asked to account for the cocaine paraphernalia even as a further search led to the discovery of cannabis.
However, he declined to say anything in his defence on Monday after he pleaded guilty to having possession of the items on September 15 and Sergeant Rudy Pilgrim read the facts.
