Fifteen goals were scored in the four matches played last night on the second day of the Grantley Adams International Airport (GAIA) Football Tournament.
Playing at the Maurice King Complex in Briar Hall, Christ Church, GAIA Inc. kept their unbeaten status with a 3-1 victory over Group A rivals Goddard’s Catering.
Goddard’s Catering took the lead in the opening stanza through Dean Callender, only to give up three goals in the second half, as Jormore Jordan, Kerry Holder (known more for his goalkeeping) and Rico Forde ensured GAIA stormed back for the three points.
Mocatelles welcomed Aliants with a 5-1 flogging.
Braces from Chad Small and Delisle Sobers and a sole strike from Shaquille Jarvis, gave Mocatelles their second win in as many matches, while Chris Sealy got the consolation goal for Aliants in their Group B clash.
Runway Duty-Free rode their luck to edge the ever-improving JetBlue FC 2-1.
Dwayne “Schilacchi” Stanford delivered a brace for Runway Duty-Free and Mathew Hackett found the net for JBFC in the other Group B encounter.
Caribbean Aircraft Handlers Ramp found winners’ row as they blanked Passenger Service Agents United 2-0 in the other Group A match. Shemar Mascoll and Kadeem Weekes did the damage for the winners.
The keen competition in the GAIA Football Tournament resumes next Monday.
