Tropical Depression Kirk has weakened into a tropical wave.
At 11 a.m., the tropical wave associated with the remnants of Tropical Depression Kirk was located south of 15 degrees north and 40 degrees west or about 1370 miles east of Barbados.
The wave is moving toward the west at 23 miles per hour and this general motion is expected to continue over the next few days.
The Met Office however advises that the tropical wave is likely to undergo some fluctuations in intensity as it continues to track westward towards the Lesser Antilles and will therefore be monitored for any re-development.
The forecasters say regardless of development Barbados is likely to experience some moderate to heavy showers, gusty winds and thunderstorms late Thursday and continuing into Friday.
