A 58-year-old salesman, accused of setting fire to a building housing several businesses on Bolton Lane, The City, was remanded to HMP Dodds today.
Ricardo Anderson Riviere, of Fairfield Main Road, Black Rock, St Michael appeared before Magistrate Douglas Frederick today on a single arson charge.

He is alleged to have destroyed by fire the building belonging to OMB Limited or intending to destroy the property.
The accused was not required to plead to the indictable charge, which was allegedly committed on October 19.
Riviere who is represented by attorney-at-law Mohia Ma’at will reappear before the No. 1 District ‘A’ Magistrate’s Court on November 21.

Here we go again, a 58 year old man accused of committing Arson; how reckless! Another idiot hammering a nail into the coffin ⚰️How can a man of this age be so inept.
@Cynthia Taitt: The same way you are so inept also with your English holier than thou self. Why not stop fooling yourself, and just for once try being the real person you are.
Time to stop pretending, five decades of pretending should land you a leading role in a prime time movie series.
GREENGIANT, You call yourself, the description of yourself speak volumes. In fact you are no giant, hiding behind what can only be a gutless character lacking any common sense. You are obviously too stupid to understand the seriousness of Arson. You are pathetic, go get a brain. You will never be on my archive anything by hiding under a stone during the day, and only appearing at night.
@GREENGIANT
Is Sinthia Taitt, Harry Turn Over Mummy by any chance ???
He sells sun glasses on bolton lane?
Dont he know almost every store in town have cameras..so if they dont see you in the act another stores cameras will catch you walking beforw or after.
I bet he sells fire extinguishers.
Big man, I may be able to help you if you tell me the real name of the individual known as “Harry turn over”.
GREENGIANT, You may notice that I am using the name I was given at birth, and not hiding behind a smoke screen. The fact is, I have not been a slave to illegal drugs, had sexual relationship with any member of my family, or done anything which would cause me to hide. I left Barbados 52 years ago, had a lengthy successful Nursing Career, and has been happily married to the same man for 35 years. You think you know me, the girl who left Barbados? Well come out from behind your smoke screen, and let’s talk, because I have nothing that I want to hide. I am waiting, don’t disappoint!
GREENGIANT, It is obvious that you do not recognise the seriousness of Arson although so many people in Barbados lose they homes owing to fires. It is no doubt that you are unable to comprehend the meaning of the word inept. I’m not the sad girl I was 52 years ago. I escaped the hell I was forced to live in, and has well and truly move out of the dungeon. You may know who I was prior to 52 years ago, but you certainly don’t know who I challenge you to do your thing, I am waiting!
Correction, to previous post so many people in Barbados lose THEIR homes to fire .
High five to you Cynthia,I’m happy that intuition lead me to the correct portfolio for your good self.We are in the same church, singing from the same hymn book and we could definately compare notes. The truthfulness in your comments will always anger those under achievers without any meaningful aspirations for the country in which they live and suck the precious oxygen.Pride has eluded them, they are a pretentious bunch of birds of a feather who cannot decipher right from wrong, good from bad. In the meantime they continue to reproduce more of the same DNA therefore are doomed and some moron would now say the government is responsible.
I remember when this story first broke, Johnny Crow asked a question whether an arsonist was in our midst, and now low and behold here one is. A full grown man.
Honestly, Top of the morning to you. I find it extremely disappointing and frustrating that some Barbadians continue to exist in the distant past while everything around then continue to collapse. I recognise the author of the post calling themselves GREENGIANT. I believe it to be my drug fuel brother living in New York. Sadly, I don’t consider drug users as any type of GIANTS; maybe GREEN like moss. I have to say that Had I given him the £7000 he wanted four years ago, he would be seeing in the light he did before I refused to hand over the money. The grapes are always sour when individuals are unable to reach them. I left Barbados in 1966, I was working as a Nanny with an English couple, they saw protential in me, and decided to give me the opportunity I craved to improve my life. It is because of their help in the early day that I was able to overcome the struggle, and achieve my goals. I have had the good fortune of never being turned down for jobs I applied for, because failure is not part of my vocabulary. I recognise that others may not have been that fortunate, but as black people we need to be less suspicious of others, and get on with the job in hand by striving to achieve our aspirations. That’s the examples I have followed my entire life. Many women of my age have suffered hell lives in Barbados; Barbadians we once hard working highly respected people who worked extremely hard to provide for their families; I ask what happen to our people? Why are we now so dependant? Why are our young people walking around with guns killing each other? Worst of all why are mature individuals committing senseless crime? Our people now appear to spend all their time banking back to the distant pass, instead of building a healthy future for the children of tomorrow. When Errol Barrow achieved Independence for Barbados, he could not have dreamed of the disaster the Island would have become. Drugs, guns, lazy dependant people and crime. We can only hope for positive change. Have a great day.
