Chief Magistrate Christopher Birch this afternoon ordered that the four women – three Colombians and a Guyanese – be handed over to immigration for deportation.
The order was made after Colombians 31-year-old Leidy Yurani Rodas Lemos, 19-year-old Johanna Martinez Palacios, 21-year-old Carolina Estupinan and 23-year-old Guyanese Handisa Amanda Adam’s pleaded guilty to assaulting immigration officer Carlisle Murray on November 13 in the execution of his duties.
All four women who were jointly charged were convicted, reprimanded and discharged for the offence.
They were represented by Queens Counsel Michael Lashley and Dayna Taylor Lavine.
Who foots that bill?
….and the news in a daily newspaper gave the impression that one of them was beaten by the Immigration Officer.
They should have been JAILED for 7 days and then sent to RH out of Barbados…. coming bout hey picking fares and spreading diseases like flies.
We Bajans like to cry down our very own.The social media is giving the impression that the Immigration Officer was the one who is the aggressor.
Hm
I would choose to plead guilty and get deported before I settle for being remanded for an unreasonable length of time.
That is all? they beat the man on his job and all they get is put out of the island only to return with a different name. They should have been made to leave some money here.
Thee Haitians on they way,if you doubt me ask Commie
Good,4 less to deal with.
We’re too soft on strangers and tougher on our own
Is this what the free movement is about, free movement for prostitutes? Pick them all up and deport them.
Go and ply your trade in the Dominican Republic. You will be welcomed there with open arms.
To the gun smugglers and dope smugglers, white, brown, black, Asian, Indian, go ply your trade somewhere else.
Donald Trump, you singing my tunes. However, I advocate legalizing prostitution. That way Harry Turnover would’t have to dodge the police up Bush Hill.
Barbadians put up with too much crap with the guyanese, they come to this country and behave like it belongs to them.I know that folks that are born and bred here cannot get away with anything in their country.I am glad they were deported, nothing but trouble makers all of the time.I don’t trust those people.Immagration need to crack down on them entering this Island, alot of them come to prostitute anyway. We don’t need that.
Hmmm. I wonder if this is clandestine human trafficking at play here? This so-called free movement needs to be revisited it has become a license for nefarious behaviours under the guise of the so-called free movement, and some of this movement ain’t free at all, no pun intended.
@ JOHNNY CROW
Harry Turnover don’t work in Bush Hill
He works in Pinfold Street or by the Park Bottom gate
We are so unkind to our neighbours/family.
when in Rome accept the Roman’s ways of life.. Similarly. .When in Barbados obey the laws of the land .if we accommodate you and your don’t show your appreciation by displaying behaviour that is unbecoming, thenyou should be asked to leave. That simple.
Nation newspaper dig into the story and reveal what happen. BT just run with what the court order without digging. More to come from this.

Les Carr..Footing what bill? Duh int got return tickets?
I said it already and I will say it again.Dont like this idea of free moment of people. We are to small for this madness that the government and certain people bent on pushing on Bajans. Right speed send them back where their belong. I support the immigration department 1000 percent. Great work keep focus. We have faith you will keep the country safe always. Don’t waver. You have our support always.
Am not applauding their actions ,wrong is wrong and since I don’t know the full story I will certainly keep my comment private ..but am only here to read the comments ..and seeing how the non Nationals haters come out to play
@Big Man

“We are so unkind to our neighbours/family”
Unkind my foot, are you a prostitute? Why are you sympathetic to these people? They assaulted an Immigration Officer for heavens sake!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and you NICOLE SMITH, there are no non-national haters on this forum, just sensible Barbadians with rational and logical opinions on this matter.
The worst kept secret in Barbados is about these free movement prostitutes. Arrive Friday during the day and by Friday night they are on the streets plying their trade.
Every overseas Barbadian is aware of this. Do you think the Immigration Officers who are right there in Barbados are unaware of this reality?
Maybe you NICOLE SMITH are one of them, not the immigration officers.
Just an opinion.
