President of the Prison Officers Association of Barbados Trevor Browne appeared in the District C Magistrate’s Court this morning on four charges related to sedition or mutiny at Her Majesty’s Prison Dodds, St Philip.
Browne, who is accused of maliciously endeavouring to seduce four other prison officers from their duties, pleaded not guilty to all the charges.
He was granted $1,000 bail with one surety and will return to court on February 18, 2019.
His wife, Wendy, signed bail on his behalf as a delegation of about a dozen prison officers turned up in court to show solidarity.
Also present was the Prison Officer Association’s industrial relations consultant Senator Caswell Franklyn. Browne is represented by attorney Andrew Pilgrim
