BWA and corporate Barbados unite to address community tanks issue

The race is on for the Barbados Water Authority (BWA) to replace several water tanks in various communities across the island.

The project is well underway, and the BWA says all involved are committed to ensuring that the tanks are replaced, starting with the most vulnerable areas, as soon as possible.

This is as a result of a joint initiative between the BWA, corporate Barbados and individuals who came forward to assist with the effort through donations of cash, supplies, expertise and time.

Members of the BWA’s construction section are being ably assisted by other trained workers who, though attached to other sections, have been hard at work assisting on this project.

The BWA says staff worked consistently through the weekend starting on Friday night, until today to complete the bases on which the tanks need to be placed.

The Authority says it wishes to sincerely thank all parties who have generously and selflessly given to this endeavour.

  • That RUBBISH PARTY has already been gotten rid of.Barbadians demanded and got what they WISHED FOR...like you now arrived in TOWN
ANDRE BARROW is thinking that the MASSES should have bandied together to keep that CROOKED PARTY IN POWER.
Lord have mercy...ya mean to tell we still got remnants of those who still feel that Corporate Barbados should have stepped forward to keep the DEMOCRATIC LABOR PARTY in power????

  • That's a real own goal by Innotech. That said I must ask... and it's great to see the cooperation and goodwill gestures. That's how a country should operate....

The BWA was in desperation mode prior to May 24th... Where were these businesses? Corporate Social Responsibility seems to be dependent on whose in power. So I must ask where was your benevolence before? Do you really care? This party rubbish in Barbados needs to gotten rid of. Barbadians must demand better.

  • I have long advocated for bajans to get involved in volunteering time and skills to move the country forward. If we as a people had pratist this in our culture we could have solved lots of local community issues.

  • A huge thank you to all those who were physically involved giving of their time to ensure that the already disadvantaged folk don't suffer any further hardship.Blessings shall be bestowed upon you all because you have opened your hands to give and some way along life's journey watch and see the rewards,if not directly maybe to someone belonging to you.Have a blessed Xmas and good health in 2019.
