Only last Friday Susan Payne of Block 12A, Beachpath, Deacons Farm, St Michael stood surety for an accused in the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court before Acting Magistrate Anika Jackson.

Today, she re-appeared in court as an accused.

Noting that she was disappointed in the accused, the Magistrate told Payne she had come to the court on Friday and presented herself as a “fit person” to stand surety for someone.

The charge is that on November 30, 2018, the 23-year-old housekeeper, assaulted Shamika Cox of Second Avenue, Weekes Land, St Michael, occasioning her actual bodily harm.

Payne pleaded not guilty and there was no objection to bail.

Bail was granted in the sum of $750.
