That’s how long Marlon Terry Martyr, of September Square, St Matthias, Christ Church will spend at HMP Dodds after he failed to compensate Janet Thompson $800 for damaging her cellular phone on Valentines Day. Magistrate Douglas Frederick told the 32-year-old technician on his last court appearance that he needed to pay the amount in full by today or spend a month in prison. However, when he appeared in the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court this morning he informed the magistrate that he had no money. The matter was set-aside for a couple of hours and Martyr returned and told Frederick that he was able to borrow $200. Thompson who had previously informed the court that she conducted business from the phone and was losing revenue daily was not amused. “From the onset, you said to bring the money, [and] he ain’t do it so send him up,” the woman stated.
