Worrell, of Lot 15 Maynards Housing Area, St Peter was also charged with possession with intent to supply and intent to traffic both illicit substances on April 5, 2019. Prosecutor Sergeant St Clair Phillips told Magistrate Douglas Frederick over the weekend that police were carrying out an operation in Worrell’s community when they spotted him standing among a group under a shed. As they approached he grabed a multi-coloured bag and ran through a track. Police pursued and caught him. The bag was retrieved about ten metres away. When examined in his presence it contained four transparent plastic bags with vegetable matter and two plastic wrappings with a white powered substance. He also had both substances in his pocket. When asked to account he admitted ownership and stated that he ran because “the police bore the block”. He also allegedly said that the cocaine was to sell. The cocaine weighed nine grammes and had a $450 street value while the 35 grammes of cannabis was worth $150 on the streets. After addressing the magistrate he was remanded to Dodds until May 3, 2019. Barbados Today Stay informed and engaged with our digital news platform.
