Two Christ Church men were today remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison Dodds after appearing at the District ‘D’ Magistrates’ Court on gun related offences.
They are Adeem Antone Millington, 25, of Ashby Land, Oistins and Dario David Akeem Cox, 22, of Lodge Road.
The two men were among four occupants of a car that was searched by officers of the Anti-Gun and Gangs Unit of the Royal Barbados Police Force along Turner’s Hall, St Andrew, last Saturday.
Police had recovered two firearms from the vehicle.
As a result, Millington was charged with possession of a firearm without a valid licence and possession of ten rounds of ammunition without a valid licence.
Cox was also charged with possession of a firearm, possession of six rounds of ammunition without a valid licence and three counts of assaulting police in the execution of duty.
At this morning’s court appearance before Magistrate Ian Weekes, the accused were not required to plead to the firearm and ammunition charges, which are indictable.
Cox however pleaded not guilty to the three assault charges.
Both men were ordered to reappear at the District ‘D’ Magistrate Court on Thursday, May 23.
