Five men must be on their best behavior for the next 12 months following a glass bottle throwing fracas along Nursery Drive, the City that sent innocent by-standers scampering for safety.
They are, Rommel Rishon Clarke, 22, of 1stAvenue Green Hill Drive, Silver Hill, Christ Church; Ian Kyle Pond, 26, of Princess Royal Avenue, Pinelands, St Michael; John Daniel Matthews, 34; Urial Gustaveous Pilgrim, 34, and Devon David Obrien Rice, 35, all of Nursery Drive, St Michael who pleaded guilty to causing the disturbance at the public place.
They must now adhere to the bond imposed by Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant if they want to avoid paying the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court a $1,500 forthwith fine or spending two months in prison.
The incident began with Pond confronting Rice about putting his finger in the shape of a gun every time he passed his residence. Rice denied the allegation telling Pond to “go from round me”. Pond left but later returned, approached Rice in a threatening manner while armed with knife but was struck in the head with a bottle thrown by Matthews. Pond left again and returned with Clarke who was armed with a cutlass, but according to the facts ,the others who were on the scene armed themselves with glass bottles aiming at the two men causing persons to flee the area. They were later arrested and charged.
