Rogich Augustus Edghill and Tanisha Natasha Haynes-Norville were each granted $15, 000 bail with one surety when they appeared at the District ‘A’ Criminal Court 1 today.
Edghill, 37, of 2nd Avenue Grazettes, St Michael and Haynes-Norville, 29, of 3rd Avenue, also of Grazettes, were jointly charged with trafficking and conspiracy to traffic cannabis.
Edghill was separately charged with preparatory acts for the purpose of trafficking cannabis and Haynes-Norville with importation of cannabis.
The two were arrested after police investigated a drug find at the Bridgetown Port.
Last Thursday, customs officials scanned one Schumacher battery charger, which was shipped from Trinidad. The battery charger was found to contain eight blue carbon wrapped packages each containing a vegetable matter suspected to be cannabis.
The weight was 10.78 pounds with an estimated street value of $19, 600.
Edghill and Haynes-Norville are scheduled to return to court on October 14.
