Update: Health authorities urge asthma sufferers to leave areas affected by smoke

The Ministry of Health and Wellness is advising persons with asthma or other respiratory illnesses to leave communities surrounding B’s Recycling in St Thomas, which is being affected by heavy smoke from the fire until conditions improve.

People who are feeling unwell are also advised to seek medical attention as soon as possible.

The authorities assured that the emergency services are taking all necessary steps to bring the situation under control.
