Romeldo Ricardo Mayers, 20, of Block 3D Pleasant Hall, St Matthias appeared before Magistrate Graveney Bannister earlier today charged with possession of a firearm and ammunition without the valid licences to do so. He was not required to plead to the indictable August 22 charges when he appeared in the District ‘A’ Traffic Court. Mayers will make his next court appearance on September 23. A released from the Royal Barbados Police Force stated that lawmen intercepted a motor vehicle on Pine Road with three occupants aboard on Tuesday, August 22. “A search was conducted of the occupants and the vehicle and as a result . . . one Glock pistol and ten (10) rounds of ammunition was found in the pants pocket of the accused. In addition an empty magazine was also discovered,” the released stated.
