Early NIS Cheque cashing with conditions

The National Insurance Office has advised that the NIS pension cheques which have a cashing date of April 9, 2020, may be cashed on Wednesday, April 8, and Thursday April 9, between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.

Those NIS pensioners with surnames commencing with the letters A to H may cash their cheques on Wednesday, April 8, while those with letters I to Z may cash theirs on Thursday, April 9.

Post Offices will be opened from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on those days.

Cheque cashing services will also be available for those who USUALLY cash their cheques at the NIS Office from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

In keeping with the COVID-19 physical distancing protocols, the National Insurance Office is appealing to members of the public to queue in an orderly manner, both outside and inside the Post Office or NIS Office, keeping the safe distance of six feet behind the person in front of them.  In addition, they are encouraged not to block the doorways.
