Internationally acclaimed saxophonist Elan Trotman is among the artistes who have been using social media platforms to ensure that their fans are satisfied. While seeing him perform live is an experience not to be missed, his virtual concert certainly did not disappoint. On Monday night he took to Facebook for the second instalment in his Quarantine Concert series, attracting viewers from across the world.

Elan has been using the break in his touring schedule to work on a new album. Due to the social distancing constraints, he has been forced to adopt a novel approach to pull it all together. All the tracks are being virtually produced with the musicians working on their pieces remotely from across the globe. So far, Better Days, which is his 10th album, has ten tracks on the cards. He said: “The album is inspired by this time we are going through.” It features collaborations with Nathan Mitchell, Marcus Anderson and Adam Holly.

While many are growing increasingly weary of being confined to their homes, the soothing strains provided the backdrop to achieve serenity in your own space. The talented musician drew on his extensive catalogue for the diverse songs featured in this latest edition.

Viewers enjoyed songs from several of his albums as he thrilled with Lil Too Late from the This Time Around album and Last Dance from The Love and Sax album. Tracks from the Tropicality album were also featured. His fans also enjoyed Carnival Fever, which has a music video which was filmed in his hometown of Barbados.

The internationally travelled artiste showed his versatility as a musician by performing one of his favourites. He was phenomenal on flute with Heaven in Your Eyes, the song that made it all the way to number eleven on the Billboard Charts.

Though he is uncertain about when the album is set to be released, Trotman did not torture his fans by making them wait for the new material. He treated them to Prayer for Humanity.

Elan’s own music dominated the session. However, his superb musicianship was highlighted on Justin Bieber’s mega hit Sorry.

The showcase which lasted for well over an hour, left attendees satiated. (STT)
