The victim has been identified as Rita Hunte of Upper Carters Gap, Christ Church. According to lawmen, around 3:50 p.m, a 54-year-old man who was parked on the northern side of the car park was about to drive when the vehicle accelerated across the car park and struck another car before mounting the sidewalk and colliding with Hunte and her companion Dorothy Hall, 63, ย of Upper Carters Gap, Christ Church. The two elderly women were sitting under a wooden structure where fish vendors ply their trade. Hunte was pinned onto a wooden post. She died at the hospital. Meanwhile, Hall suffered injuries to her right foot. She was also transported by ambulance to the QEH.
