Prime Minister Mia Mottley announced a cabinet reshuffle this evening in a brief address to the nation.
Five Ministers have been relieved of their portfolios.
These include George Payne, Neil Rowe, Lucille Moe, Edmund Hinkson and Trevor Prescod.
Mottley however made two additions to her ministerial team.
These include Senator Lisa Cummins, Minister of Tourism and International Transport and Ian Gooding Edghill, Minister of Transport, Works and Water Resources.
Mottley also announced the following changes to ministerial portfolios
Dr William Duguid- Housing, Lands and Maintenance
Wilfred Abrahams – Home Affairs, Information and Public Affairs
Adrian Forde – Environment and National Beautification
Kerrie Symmonds – Energy, Small Business and Entrepreneurship
Peter Phillips – Agriculture and Food Security
Charles Griffith- Minister in the Ministry of Water Resources
Dwight Sutherland – Minister of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment
John King- Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office -Culture and Rural Development Commission
Prime Minister Mottley announced that Parliament will be prorogued on August 8, 2020 and a new session will take effect on September 15.
