Professor Rt Hon Owen Arthur was a true son of the soil. His commitment to national and regional development is a legacy grounded in rich intellectual thought and successful political practice. Thus, making him worthy of study and emulation.
An approachable man, our Nation’s fifth Prime Minister possessed an ability to set aside office and relate with anyone on an individual basis. I can attest to such an encounter.
Given his place in the national and regional landscape, I take this moment to convey condolences as Barbados CARICOM Youth Ambassador and on behalf of my team to his family. In acknowledging his distinguished service, we honour him and his memory.
We accept that death is the last chapter in time and the first in eternity. For eternity, we pray you have peace and rest. Trod on Sir, walk good.
Chad Monerville is CARICOM Youth Ambassador for Barbados.
