- The new traffic signals at the junction of the Ronald Mapp Highway and Westmoreland should be energized shortly. The four traffic signals have already been installed. The move is to improve the safety at this intersection for all motorists and pedestrians traversing along Westmoreland Road.
- The Ministry is continuing its excavation for the slip lane off of the Garfield Sobers Roundabout along Rendezvous Road onto Forde’s Road. The slip lane will be constructed to facilitate persons travelling straight through to Rendezvous Hill.
St Philip – A section of Train Road has been completed, however, phase 2 is ongoing. A crew is clearing water courses at Brereton No. 2 meanwhile man holes are being repaired in Apple Hall. Accommodation works are ongoing at Long Bay. A water retention pond is being constructed by a contractor while well repairs are being done on Foul Bay Main Road.
Christ Church – Work on the steps on Rendezvous Hill should be completed shortly. The crew will be continuing the footpath further down the road. Work on the footpath projects on Water Street and Kendal Hill are continuing. Excavation work is being carried out by Arthur’s Construction in conjunction with the National Petroleum Corporation, to facilitate the laying of pipes at the road leading from the junction of Highway 7 and Dayrells Road to the Golf Club Road intersection. While the road is not completely closed for the duration of the work, only local access is being permitted.
St Peter – Mile and a Quarter to the Whim will be milled and paved this week, while the Whim to Richmond Hill will also be milled and paved. In Boscobel, the reconstruction of a retaining wall is continuing.
Both pedestrians and motorists are asked to be extremely cautious when traversing through work sites and to obey the traffic wardens and take heed of the signs posted.
