Popular night club McBride’s has been closed “until further notice”.

The St Lawrence Gap, Christ Church establishment, which was a hive of activities over the past few weeks, hosted a number of fetes under the theme: Crop OverLite 2020.

Owners of the club said in statement that the business will be closed for now. No date was given for reopening.

“Please be advised that the Club will be closed until further notice. Expect to see great entertainment come back to McBride’s soon,” the proprietors said.

The statement read: “First of all allow us to thank you for your support to make Crop Over Lite 2020 the success it was…. You helped us to bring back some economic and cultural normality to the Gap, many artists and DJs as well as our team and partners.”

McBride’s, a well-patronised party spot by both locals and visitors, was one of four businesses on the south coast closed briefly by the COVID-19 Monitoring Unit.

In a statement Ronald Chapman, Director of the Unit, said that on Sunday, August 2, officers of the unit made their rounds and those four businesses along with two party buses were found to be in breach of the protocols relating to the wearing of masks in public spaces.(IMC)
