The 27-year-old, of Odessa McClean Avenue, My Lord’s Hill, St Michael told Magistrate Manila Renee “I want all 15 dismissed. At the end of the day it is just six VCS (virtual complainants). “I was in jail for over a year, they never served me with documents, never received bail, never seen the VCS in these matters. “I have a daughter. I am an entrepreneur and I want to leave jail without anything over my head. I am serving time. I got a year, was in prison from August last year, I was sentenced in March this year.” Joseph was referring to 15 charges leveled against him including uttering a Republic Bank (Barbados) Limited cheque on June 17 payable to Ali Blackman for $5,000 and trying to get the amount and uttering a forged CIBC cheque $251.90 to Chefette Restaurants Limited on July 2 and getting a quantity of food items from the restaurant for the same amount. He is further accused of forging and uttering another CIBC cheque on July 5 and obtaining a quantity of food worth $489 from Chefette and similarly on July 6 uttering another cheque purporting to be that from the same bank to the same restaurant for $591.50. He told Magistrate Renee that the previous magistrate denied his application each time. “I don’t want to ask for bail. I want these matters dismissed.” That application was also denied after the prosecution maintained objections to bail. Joseph was once more remanded and will make his next appearance before the No. 2 District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court on September 30.
