Police spokesman acting Sergeant Michael Blackman said the deceased, a male, who was riding a bicycle, was struck by a Daihatsu Mira (MX 934). According to Blackman, the car was travelling along St Stephens Hill Road in a westerly direction towards Black Rock main road and the bicyclist was reportedly travelling from Waterman Road onto St Stephens Hill Road when they collided. The bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was transported to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital by ambulance complaining of back and shoulder injuries.
