Three former students have started to pay the $50,000 in compensation ordered following their conviction for the manslaughter of their 11-year-old schoolmate in 2009.

Shaquille Shamal Khalleel Bradshaw, 24, and Doniko Javier Alleyne, 22, both of Balls Land, Christ Church and Maria Antoinette Goddard, 22, of Parish Land C, Balls Land, Christ Church paid $3,000 each on Friday and are expected to make the next payment on October 23.

Fifteen thousand dollars each has to be paid by Alleyne and Goddard while Bradshaw has to pay $20,000.

As a result of bullying from the three Princess Margaret Secondary School schoolmates at the time, 11-year-old Elroy Gibson was struck by a vehicle on September 20, 2009 and subsequently died in hospital.

Lawyer Angella Mitchell-Gittens represents Alleyne and Goddard while counsel Arthur Holder appears for Bradshaw in the case prosecuted by Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions Alliston Seale.

The matter is being heard in the No. 2 Supreme Court today before Justice Randall Worrell.
