Local NewsNews Reifer wants ‘a genuine apology’ from Bradshaw by Barbados Today 18/10/2020 written by Barbados Today 18/10/2020 1 min read A+A- Reset Share FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappThreadsBlueskyEmail 213 Democratic Labour Party Candidate for St. George North, Floyd Reifer has called for a full apology from former minister Delise Bradshaw over comments which sparked a public outcry last week. In an official statement posted on the Democratic Labour Party’s Facebook page, Reifer said, ” The public outcry and deep condemnation of Mr Bradshaw’s comment coming from the Toni Moore platform that “any idiot could play cricket” signals that his remarks were of poor taste and warranted an appropriate apology. The fact is, Mr Bradshaw used this remark to attempt to trivialise and diminish my contribution to cricket as a Former Captain & Head Coach of the West Indies Cricket team.” Reifer also took issue with the response by Minister of Sports and campaign manager of Toni Moore, Dwight Sunderland in a recent media interview. “Instead, Minister Sutherland danced around the contentious issue that Mr Bradshaw actually made a disrespectful and disgusting comment towards those who have the intention to; or play cricket; or any other sport professionally. Minister Sutherland attempted to distance the Cabinet of Barbados from the comments but in the same breath referring to Barbadians who demanded an apology as naysayers while endeavouring to justify the ludicrous remarks coming from Toni Moore’s campaign,” he stated.
