When Osbourne Delano Mings and Nicky Oneal Boyce appeared in the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court yesterday on a string of charges, they were remanded to HMP Dodds by Magistrate Alison Burke. The 28-year-old Mings of Lot 20 West View, Rock Hall, St Thomas is charged with the October 13, 2020, robbery of the popular Christ Church minimart. It is alleged that he entered the establishment and stole one $700 cash register, $500 in cash and a cell phone valued $500, and that at the time he had a firearm without a valid licence. He is also solely charged with having a firearm in his possession along with one round of ammunition on October 21, 2020. Those matters have been transferred to the District ‘B’ court and he will appear there on November 6. They are charged with entering Vaja Investment Limited as trespassers sometime between September 15 and 16, 2020, and stealing numerous items valued at $7587.20 belonging to Victor Estwick. They are also charged with entering the building known as Cornerstone Groceries and Deli sometime between October 9 and 10, 2020, and stealing items valued $9 836 belonging to Doris Barrow. Additionally, the duo is alleged to have entered Cheers Bar sometime between September 26 and 27, 2020, and stolen items valued $2502 belonging to Emry Williams. Those matters have also been transferred to District ‘B’ and the accused will appear there on November 11 in relation to these matters. Mings and Boyce are also facing the charge of entering the Bay Tavern and stealing items worth $9 463.50 belonging to Bay Tavern Inc. That matter has been transferred to District ‘C’ and has been adjourned until November 10.
