In the first case, the TTPS said that a 43-year-old man is scheduled to appear virtually before a Port-of-Spain Magistrate later on Monday charged with a series of sexual offences against two female minors.
It said that the suspect, who resides in Diego Martin, west of here, has been charged with 13 counts of sexual penetration of a minor; four counts of engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child; two counts of grooming a minor and one count of possession of child pornography.
The TTPS said that the accused was charged by following a report made to police by the girls’ mother that a man known to them had allegedly sexually assaulted the girls over a period of time.
Investigations revealed that the girls, an 11-year-old and 13-year-old, were spending time at their father’s house in Diego Martin when the attacks occurred.
The police said that the girls’ father allowed a friend, an unemployed man who was separated from his wife, to stay at his residence.
“The man built a relationship with the two girls and waited at nights when the father left to have sexual intercourse with them. Sometime after the alleged incidents, the girls reported the matter to their mother,” the statement said.
In the other incident, a 25 year-old private taxi driver, is also due to appear before aPort-of-Spain Magistrate on Monday charged with sexual touching of a minor.
The suspect was arrested and charged on November 28.
The police said that the charge arose out of an incident involving the girl who was travelling in a vehicle with the suspect.
“She reported to police that the man drove her to a dead end in the vicinity of Queen Avenue, Barataria, along the east-west corridor, where he allegedly lifted up her dress, pulled out his penis and rubbed it against her leg.”
The police are also reporting that two men have been charged for having sex with girls ages five, 13 and 15
It said that the two men will appear before a San Fernando Magistrate, south of here charged with sexual assault to three female minors.
The men, ages 25 and 37, were charged in two separate incidents on Sunday.
The police said in the first case, they conducted an investigation into a report surrounding the alleged sexual abuse to a 15-year-old girl.
“According to the girl, during the month of April 2019, a man known to her took her to a relative’s house in Gasparillo, south of here, where he allegedly had sexual intercourse with her. The girl told police that the acts occurred on three occasions,” the statement said.
It added that during the investigations, the police discovered that the suspect also allegedly sexually assaulted his five-year-old daughter.
“The accused was arrested and charged with three counts of sexual penetration of a minor and one count of sexual touching of a minor.”
In the other incident, police said they launched an investigation after a 13-year-old girl reported that while at her aunt’s home in May this year, she was awoken by a man touching her stomach.
“The girl reportedly told the investigator that the man proceeded to touch her breasts and vagina. The investigation resulted in the arrest of the 37-year-old suspect who was subsequently charged with one count of sexual touching of a minor,” the police statement added.
