The Trinidad-based University of the West Indies Seismic Research Centre (UWI-SRC) has dismissed documents being circulated on social media linking current disruptions in internet service in Port of Spain to activity at the Kick-‘em-Jenny Volcano.

The Unit has advised that “no unusual activity has been detected” at the underwater volcano located north shore of the island of Grenada.

“ The UWI-SRC has not detected any activity in the territories in which it operates that is likely to be linked to interruptions in internet service currently being experienced in Trinidad & Tobago,” the unit said in a statement.

FLOW and Digicel customers in Caribbean countries including Barbados , Trinidad and Tobago and St Vincent and the Grenadines have been experiencing disruptions to their services.
