A tale of being hijacked, robbed, stripped naked, bound and ultimately drowned was described today in the case surrounding the murder of 26-year-old David Nicholas Blenman.

The boyfriend of the Faith Pile, who pleaded guilty to the non-capital murder, claimed it was Blenman’s failure to pay for his “girl’s services” that began the events that led to the discovery of his body at a St Philip beach.

The abandonment of his car and disposal of his belongings across various parts of the island, were also outlined in the details of the December 1, 2016 disturbing murder case. This was revealed today some weeks after siblings Faith Angelica, 24 and Jamar Antonio Pile, 29 along with Faith’s boyfriend Shaquan Sherwin Amor Crichlow, 23 all of Skeete’s Road, Jackman’s, St Michael, pleaded guilty to the crime that resulted in the death of the young Golden Mile, St Peter man.

Crown Counsel Romario Straker read the statements of the investigating officer and the two convicted men before Justice Randall Worrell. On January 22, 2021, the three will be sentenced.

According to the statement from Sergeant Cameron King, Blenman was found naked at the Foul Bay Beach, St Philip. The officer said, at some point, he and other policemen went to Jamar’s residence at Skeete’s Road, Jackman’s, St Michael and when he was told that he was being arrested on suspicion of the offence, he simply replied ok.

On arrival at the Oistins Police Station, Jamar was interviewed and told of his right to counsel.

“I would like to call my mother but screw that and the attorney thing, I know what I did,” Jamar replied.

The suspect was informed of the investigations which included the results of the post mortem report which concluded that Blenman died from drowning.

“I responsible and I alone,” Jamar said.

During the interview, Jamar was asked whether Blenman begged for his life and he responded: “No, all he was saying is that he was sorry he did not pay she. He should have paid she…”

Jamar said the three of them drove various places with Blenman, in his (Blenman’s) hired car, before the ride ended at the beach. He said they went to two ATMs where they withdrew $1000 of the deceased’s money. He said of that amount he got $250 and he “spend it wisely, got a couple of boxers, a pair of slippers and paid off debts”.

Blenman’s phone was thrown in the ocean after he was killed, his car key thrown in the bush in front of Jamar’s residence and his clothes disposed of along the road.

“His wallet got pelt in a well up by the airport,” Jamar further recalled adding that seatbelts, used to tie Blenman, and a shirt used to wipe down the car were also disposed of in the same place.

In Blenman’s wallet were his identification card, licence and University of the West Indies ID card. Blenman’s pants were left near a garbage disposal some distance from the well.

Jamar also told police that it was Shaquan who said Blenman “must be killed” and he (Jamar) agreed. However, he said Faith did not want to. Shaquan, according to Jamar, said “off he” meaning to kill Blenman.

Recounting a moment in the car, he said there was a struggle to get to the back seat and Faith told Blenman to pay her. In response, he said Blenman “elbowed” Faith.

Pile pointed out where they tied up Blenman at the beach and where they drowned him.

“I walk he in the water. This is part I hold he down and I drown he. I pelt the phone out there too, then I walk back to the car and we lef bout here,” Jamar said.

Police officer Paul Adamson also assisted in the investigations and dealt specifically with Crichlow. This convicted man made similar recounts of the events that led to Blenman’s death.

“My girl tell me she went on a job and she ain’t get paid,” Crichlow told police.

He also told police that the car got stuck on the beach and at some point they took Blenman from the trunk of the car and stripped him.

“Jamar and the man walk to the water,” he said.
