The Department has become aware that persons have presented fraudulent cheques and vouchers for food, purporting to be from the Welfare Department in attempts to encash them. Please note that entities who accept such cheques or vouchers as payment do so at their own risk. Anyone who is suspicious of any such cheques should contact the Welfare Department at 535-1000, and inform the Royal Barbados Police Force at 430-7100.
