Bank robbery set for trial after ten years

Three men charged with the aggravated robbery of a bank were arraigned today and pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Damian Antonio Bryan of Clarke’s Gap, Derricks, St James; Ron Junior Kennedy of Block 9D, Ferniehurst, Black Rock, St Michael and Junior Decarlo Taitt of Blades Hill, St Philip are accused of entering Royal Bank of Trinidad and Tobago Barbados Limited in Six Roads, St Philip on September 23, 2010 and stealing $26,160,68 in cash. It is alleged that they had firearms at the time of the robbery. Bryan and Kennedy were 26 and Taitt, 37 years old, at the time of the alleged crime.

Attorney-at-law Arthur Holder is appearing for Damian Bryan while the others are finalising  their legal counsel. Crown Counsel Kevin Forde represents the Crown.

The case is set down for mention on May 17 in the No. 4 Supreme Court where Justice Laurie-Ann Smith-Bovell presides.
