The donation consisted of 7,000 N95 masks, with 60,000 surgical masks and gowns each. Dr Karen Polson, PAHO Advisor and COVID-19 Incident Manager, presented the supplies to Lieutenant Colonel Junior Browne. Dr Polson stated: “Part of PAHO’s mandate is to strengthen the capacity of organizations like the BDF to respond to any disasters or hazardous events.” She further explained that the contribution was in recognition of the BDFs support in the fight against COVID-19 and efforts in the aftermath of the La Soufriere volcano eruptions in St Vincent and the Grenadines. During the presentation ceremony, Lt Col Browne indicated that “the protective supplies would be placed immediately into action across the Force during its continuous operations and deployments.
