COVID-19 UPDATE: 31 new cases, 425 in isolation

Thirty-one people – 15 males and 16 females are the latest COVID-19 cases. The Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory conducted 1,557 tests on Thursday, September 2.

The 31 new cases comprise 25 persons who are 18 years old and over, and six under the age of 18.

There are currently 425 persons in isolation.

Since the start of the pandemic, Barbados has recorded 5,183 confirmed cases of the viral illness (2,551 females and 2,632 males), and 51 deaths.

The public health laboratory has carried out 268,124 tests.

To date, 113,404 people have received first doses under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19. Meanwhile, 95,035 persons (35.1 per cent of the population) have received second doses, and are fully vaccinated. (BGIS)
