COVID-19 UPDATE: 31 new cases, 425 in isolation

​Thirty-one people – 15 males and 16 females – are the latest COVID-19 cases. The Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory conducted 1,557 tests on Thursday, September 2.

​The 31 new cases comprise 25 persons who are 18 years old and over, and six under the age of 18.

​There are currently 425 persons in isolation.

​Since the start of the pandemic, Barbados has recorded 5,183 confirmed cases of the viral illness (2,551 females and 2,632 males), and 51 deaths.

​The public health laboratory has carried out 268,124 tests.

​To date, 113,404 people have received first doses under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19. Meanwhile, 95,035 persons (35.1 per cent of the population) have received second doses, and are fully vaccinated. (BGIS)
