A 28-year-old man has been remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison Dodds in connection with a number of criminal and traffic charges.
Dario Jermaine Shorey, of Hinds Gap, Hall’s Road, St. Michael appeared before the District ‘B’ Magistrates’ Court on Monday before Magistrate Douglas Frederick.
It is alleged that on September 13, in the areas of Dash Valley and Constant, St George, he had in his possession a .22 calibre pistol and eight rounds of ammunition without the valid licences. He was not required to plead to the indictable charges.
He is also facing charges of assault, driving without a licence or insurance; failing to register the vehicle; fraudulent use of number plates; driving without due care, attention and reasonable consideration for other persons using the road along with dangerous driving and failing to stop at the sound of the siren.
The accused pleaded not guilty to those traffic and assault charges.
Shorey, who is represented by attorney-at-law Angella Mitchell-Gittens, will reappear before the District ‘B’ Magistrates’ Court on October 18.
He was also remanded to appear in the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court on September 23 on charges of possession of a Glock pistol and 19 rounds of ammunition. Those offences were allegedly committed on June 14 in the area of Lower Burney, St. Michael.
Those charges are also indictable. Station Sergeant Glenda Carter-Nicholls represented the Crown.
