Lawyer Jackman trial for 2022

It will take a few more months before accused lawyer Ernest Winston Jackman faces a judge and jury on theft and money laundering charges.

The delay follows the continued suspension of in-person trials at the Supreme Court Complex at Whitepark Road because of coronavirus restrictions.

Jackman’s trial which was set for Monday has now been scheduled for January 12, 2022 before Justice Randall Worrell in the No. 2 Supreme Court. He is being represented by attorney-at-law Mohia Ma’at and Senior Crown Counsel Olivia Davis is the prosecutor.

The St Philip resident is alleged to have stolen $678,414.75 from HEJ Limited between June 23, 2006 and March 5, 2007.

Jackman is also accused of engaging in money laundering by directly conducting transactions involving the alleged stolen amount between June 23, 2006, and October 18, 2011.

He has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
