The Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory conducted 1,293 tests. The new positives consist of 61 persons who are under the age of 18, and 199 who are 18 years and older. There are 803 people in isolation facilities, and 5,755 in home isolation. Three deaths were recorded – two Barbadian females, one aged 69, who passed away on October 29, and an 81-year-old. The third death is that of a 70-year-old Barbadian male. They were all unvaccinated. The number of people who have died from COVID-19 as at October 31, is 156. Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the total number of persons with at least one dose is 149,019 (65.2 per cent of the eligible population). A total of 126,914 persons (46.8 per cent of the total population or 55.6 per cent of the eligible population) have received their second doses and are fully vaccinated. The eligible population represents those persons who are 12 years and older. Since the beginning of the pandemic, Barbados has carried out 390,053 tests and recorded 18,023 confirmed cases (8,727 males and 9,296 females) of COVID-19.
