St George resident Sherryann Jeanelle Hinds remains on remand at Her Majesty’s Prison Dodds pending sentence for wounding even as the complainant in her case informed the High Court that she is interested in getting compensated for her injuries.

Hinds’ case was heard on Tuesday and submissions were made by both her lawyer Andrew Pilgrim QC and the prosecutor, Senior Crown Counsel Oliver Thomas.

Her case was adjourned and will again be called before Justice Laurie-Ann Smith-Bovell in the No. 4 Supreme Court on November 15. Then, attorneys on both sides are expected to make submissions on sentencing.

Back in July, nine jurors found Hinds guilty of the lesser count of unlawfully and maliciously inflicting serious bodily harm on Tanya Mia Boyce when she threw a corrosive substance on her on June 28, 2009.

Hinds had also been on trial accused of causing serious bodily harm to Boyce with intent to maim, disfigure or disable her. The jury found her not guilty of that charge.

She has been on remand since the day of the verdict after Justice Smith-Bovell revoked bail at the Crown’s request.
