Moments after exiting the hall of the Deighton Griffith School this afternoon on Nomination Day, the Democratic Labour Party’s (DLP) first-time candidate said she was confident of unseating the current Member of Parliament for the area Adrian Medic Forde in the January 19 general election. Her proposer was Carson Howard while Marcia Welch and Marlene Fergusson were her seconders while Tedroy Daniel appeared as her election agent. “Today this is a day in history not only for me but for the DLP. Since I’ve started this journey it has been great so far…I intend to bring this seat back home to the DLP and to do my utmost best for the constituents in Christ Church West Central,” Dimmont told Barbados TODAY. “In my assessment, I think the feedback has been very, very, good. We have a lot of DLP supporters in the constituency and I am feeling confident that I will be able to bring back the seat. “I’m going to work hard, I’ve been working hard. I have many things in store for the constituents and I intend to do my best. This entire process has been so phenomenal for me and it isn’t even funny. I’ve been doing extensive work throughout Barbados and I am just bringing this home to a central point and I’m very proud of that and I thank God of all for allowing me to be here today and to be officially selected and to place my name on the ballot in the general election,” she added.
