The National Union of Public Workers (NUPW) has a new leader at the helm.

Richard Green, the former Deputy General Secretary, was chosen as the new General Secretary over veteran trade unionist Wayne Walrond following an hours-long meeting of the National Council at the union’s Dalkeith, St Michael, headquarters.

Green and Walrond were the only two candidates who applied to fill the post of General Secretary.

Walrond had been acting in the position since Delcia Burke retired at the end of 2020.( RB)
