Prominent CPAs discussing leadership in all of its many facets was the focal point of an online panel discussion for international CPAs hosted by Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA Canada) on February 23. Vartika Ambwani, director, Silicon Valley Bank, was the moderator of the “Lessons from Peers – A CPA Canada Member Panel Discussion”. She noted: “This panel featured four internationally based members, with each of us discussing our personal experiences as leaders and how our CPA designation have helped us in our careers.” Ambwani was joined in the panel discussion by three other CPA leaders: Maxine Attong, an executive coach with Maxine Attong Consultant, Clint McNair, executive vice president and chief financial officer of PTW Energy Services, and Adam Steiner, vice president, capital markets at Beachwold and Co-Founder, Sydenham Capital During the lively discussion, the panelists shared useful tips and best practices that have helped them progress in their careers. They also discussed the various opportunities and challenges that they are preparing to face in the new year and beyond. “CPA Canada is committed to showcasing the skills and expertise of our members residing outside of Canada,” explained Anna-Marie Christian, director, emerging issues and strategic partnerships with CPA Canada. “Peer-to-peer learning allows CPAs to share their experiences and provide advice to their fellow accounting professionals.” More than 300 CPAs from over 35 countries attended the webinar.
