There was a time when certain political decisions would evoke commentary from the media and critical analysis from our social commentators. But we seem to be living
in an era where people are averse or afraid to question things done by the current government or are so satisfied with what they are getting, that they see no need to
ask questions.
I am a resident of St Philip and I find it curious that John King can ‘voluntarily’ give up being a Government MP where his party has twice won all the seats in the Lower House, to go sit in the Senate.
If you do not want to serve the people as an MP, why would you want to serve as a senator and who are you serving?
Does being in the Senate have anything to do with merely securing a pension? However, King could have done that by remaining an MP. But there seems to an embargo on discussing this folly.
