The Harmony Hall, St Lawrence, Christ Church resident stated the position as he gave an unsworn statement from the dock of the No. 2 Supreme Court before Justice Randall Worrell and the jury hearing his case. Thornhill is on trial charged with having a .45 calibre pistol and ten rounds of ammunition without valid licences on the mentioned date. “On the 6th of August, I was walking in Navy Gardens when I saw the police. I ran because I had weed on me. I never had a gun,” he claimed. “The next day, police . . . . dem me and make me sign de statement. I never made dem oral statements. I never tell no police that I had a gun, nor the black hat or the shoe was mine. “Until this time, I was never involved with police before. That is all I have to say, Sir,” Thornhill stated.
