#BTSpeakingOut – Insurance the best protection

Each year we in these Caribbean islands are at the mercy of adverse weather during the hurricane season.

I would like to make the suggestion that insurance coverage is the best method of hurricane preparedness.

Physical preparation of properties can only go so far as serious category hurricanes have the capacity to render all physical preparedness totally meaningless.

That being said, I suggest that each member of parliament use his or her resources to find out who in their constituency does not have insurance and where it is a case that the household cannot afford insurance because of unemployment, underemployment or simply poverty, that every effort is made by the politicians to assist those persons in getting adequate insurance coverage before the high winds come.

The people voted for you, do something for the people.
