A man in his 20s who had an illegal gun and bullets in his possession five years ago remains on bail pending sentence after he admitted to the crimes on Tuesday.
Menelik Marcus Armstrong, of Mount Hillaby, St Andrew, appeared before Justice Carlisle Greaves in the No. 3 Supreme Court and pleaded guilty to having a .25 semi-automatic pistol and nine rounds of ammunition on May 26, 2017.
The plea was accepted by Senior State Counsel Neville Watson, who is the prosecutor in the matter.
In preparation for sentencing, a pre-sentencing report has been ordered along with a report on the time Armstrong spent on remand in relation to the offence, and a record of any antecedents he may have.
He has been given a September 23 date to reappear before Justice Greaves, at which time he is expected to be sentenced.
