Armed with their jackets to combat the chilly night air and perched on theirĀ  blankets positioned for a prime view of the stage, supporters of Warrens Primary School gathered for their grand presentation of Christmas Carols 2022.

TheĀ  fundraising concert, which was hosted at the Mapp Hill school compound, attracted a large audience. The entertainment package revolved around an adaptation of the Christmas Story where Gabrielle Griffith and Dante Baptiste ably played the main characters Mary and Joseph.

Entertainment was interspersed between the scenesĀ  of the dramatic presentation. Students from across all year levels had their role to play in the production. Lead singer Zavia Branch was joined by the choir for My Favourite Things. Other choral presentations included Ring Them Bells, Joy to the WorldĀ  and O Come All Ye Faithful.

Class 2 studentĀ  Armani Gittens confidently stepped up to the mic for his poem Let Every Day Be Christmas. Class 2 performed Once Upon a Christmas Time.

The dancers were not to be left out, and they too received their time in the limelight throughout the night.

Kimberly Inniss was the first to make an appearance doing Ā her yuletide song Itā€™s Christmas Fa La La La La. Gospel singer John Yarde was among the featured acts. He made his way from the stage and wove his way through the audience as he sang. Instrumentalist Kieshelle Rawlins displayed her skill on the saxophone.

Patrons enjoyed performances by past participants of the RichardĀ  Stoute Teen Talent Contest. Among them were Tavon Boyce who sang O Holy Night. Over 21 competitor Natalie Hinkson ā€” a teacher at the school ā€” teamed up with fellow contestant Shane Headley for Every Year Every Christmas by Luther Vandross. Rashida Codrington changed up the pace performing the upbeat Donā€™t Save It All for Christmas Day.

Former students were also able to make their contribution and past student ā€” singer Ciara Baptiste ā€” teamed up with her brother, keyboardist Dante Baptiste, who still attends the institution, on Hallelujah.

The tiny tots created a stir whenever they graced the stage.

The entertainment package included a shadow performance where a white piece of cloth was draped across the front of theĀ  stage as the students were able to effectively tell their story with their movements just behind it.

Audience participation was welcomed to keep attendees entertained during the transitions. Grandparent Everick Eastmond was up to the challenge, and he sang the Christmas Song to the delight of the crowd.

The tiny tots were a hit, and they were cute in their costumes. Each time they emerged there was a rush to the stage as proud family members clamoured for the perfectĀ  shot of their excited Ā charges. (STT)
