CIBC FirstCaribbean has refuted a newspaper report that its systems have been compromised.
Below is the full statement issued by the financial institution on Saturday:
CIBC FirstCaribbean is not aware of client accounts “being drained” as reported in the Saturday Sun; our systems have not been compromised, and our fraud teams are reporting no breaches.
Now that we have been made aware of the identity of the client in the article, we are reaching out to establish what happened and bring the matter to a close.
