The victim has been identified as Malachy Raymond Weedon, 50, of Doughlin Road, Weston, St James.

Police had previously incorrectly identified the victim.

Emergency services were called to Weston, St James, around 11:20 pm for reports of a collision involving a  car owned and driven by a 31-year old-man of Little Bay, St Lucy, and a pedestrian.

Police say the car was travelling along the road in a northerly direction towards Speightstown when the collision occurred in the vicinity of John Moore Bar.

The pedestrian died on spot.
